Your Rights
We are committed to providing you with the best possible care. To achieve this, we work in partnership with you. You have the right to:
- Be treated with courtesy and respect at all times.
- Be actively involved in decisions about your care.
- Receive care in a confidential and private manner.
- Request a preferred doctor, subject to availability.
- Receive emergency assistance outside opening hours with no more than one additional call.
- Bring someone to your appointment, though you may be asked to speak privately during the consultation.
- Collect repeat prescriptions within 2 working days of your request.
- Access clear information about our services (via posters, notices, and newsletters).
- View or request a copy of your medical records, in line with legal guidelines.
Your Responsibilities
To help us provide the best care, we kindly ask you to:
- Treat our staff and doctors with the same respect you expect.
- Order repeat prescriptions at least 48 hours in advance.
- Keep a basic first aid kit at home and manage minor illnesses where possible.
- Attend (or cancel) specialist appointments if no longer needed.
- Follow up on tests or investigations as advised.
- Arrive on time for appointments and check in at Reception.
- Patients more than 20 minutes late may not be seen.
- Cancel in advance if you cannot attend—missed appointments delay care for others.
- Book separate appointments for each family member needing care.
- Visit the surgery whenever possible—home visits are for medical necessity, not convenience.
- Update us if you change your address, name, or phone number.
- Read practice information provided—ask if anything is unclear.
- Share feedback—your suggestions help us improve our service.
By working together, we ensure safe, efficient, and respectful care for all.
